Truths & Myths on Handling Contact Lenses

Hey. I just read an article on how to handle contact lens properly since we heard so many issues about contact lens ( most of it is the bad one). Okay, so here, I wanted to share with you The Right Way to clean and handle your contact lenses:
  1. Keep the contact lens case clean and replace it regularly, at least every three months. Lens cases can be a source of contamination and infection.
  2. Remove the debris on your lenses with multi-purpose solution ( *Aya used the Complete Multi Purpose solution) before putting them into your case.
  3. Do not reuse your contact lens solution as there might be dirt, bacteria, or even mascara in it!
  4. Keep your contact lens cases away from the bathroom sink. Bathroom sinks are homes to a disease-causing fungus, causing an outbreak of corneal infections among contact lens users in 2005-6.
  5. Put your contact lenses on before applying makeup. Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your contacts so you won't transfer any oils, creams or lotions to the lenses.
  6. Do not wear your contact lenses longer than the recommended hours. Do not wear them to sleep!
For tips No.6, you can refer here how long you can wear your contact lenses by referring the water content on the label of the contact lenses packaging:
42%  for 8 hours, 36% for 6 hours, 55% for 10-12 hours.

p/s I just threw away my contact lenses since I realize that my original eyes are the prettiest eyes I ever had. Alhamdulillah .
